Description

These Easy Winter Wonderland Chocolate Chip Cookies are soft, chewy, and loaded with gooey chocolate chips, festive white chocolate drizzle, and sparkling sugar for a magical winter touch. Perfect for holiday parties, cookie exchanges, or cozy nights by the fire.

Ingredients

  • 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 3/4 cup unsalted butter, melted and slightly cooled
  • 3/4 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg + 1 egg yolk
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 1/2 cups semisweet or milk chocolate chips
  • 1/2 cup white chocolate chips or melting wafers
  • 1 tbsp coarse sparkling sugar (for decoration)
  • 1 tbsp white or blue sprinkles (optional, for a winter look)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line two baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.
  3. In a large bowl, whisk melted butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until smooth and combined.
  4. Whisk in the egg, egg yolk, and vanilla extract until creamy.
  5. Gradually stir in the dry ingredients until just combined. Fold in chocolate chips.
  6. Scoop cookie dough into 2-tablespoon balls and place them 2 inches apart on prepared baking sheets.
  7. Bake for 10–12 minutes, or until edges are lightly golden and centers are still soft.
  8. Let cookies cool on the sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
  9. Melt white chocolate chips or wafers in the microwave in 20-second bursts, stirring between each. Drizzle over cooled cookies and sprinkle with sparkling sugar and optional sprinkles.
  10. Allow drizzle to set before serving or storing.

Notes

  • Do not overbake — cookies continue to set as they cool.
  • Chill the dough for 30 minutes if you prefer thicker cookies.
  • Add crushed peppermint candy for a festive twist.
  • Store in an airtight container for up to 5 days or freeze baked cookies for up to 2 months.
