Description
Savory, buttery mushrooms sautéed with onions, garlic, and a rich seasoned sauce inspired by Texas Roadhouse-style mushrooms.
Ingredients
- 16 oz fresh button or cremini mushrooms, cleaned
- 1 small onion, finely chopped
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/2 cup beef broth
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1 teaspoon soy sauce
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon dried thyme or parsley
Instructions
- Heat butter and olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
- Add onions and sauté until soft and translucent.
- Add mushrooms and cook for 5–7 minutes until browned and tender.
- Stir in garlic and cook for 30 seconds.
- Pour in beef broth, Worcestershire sauce, and soy sauce.
- Season with salt, pepper, and thyme.
- Reduce heat and simmer for 5–8 minutes until sauce slightly thickens.
- Serve hot as a side dish or steak topping.
Notes
- Do not overcrowd the pan for best browning.
- Cremini mushrooms provide deeper flavor.
