Ingredients

  • 1 lb (450 g) fresh asparagus, trimmed
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 4 slices bacon, chopped
  • 1/2 cup shredded Parmesan or mozzarella cheese
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • Optional: red pepper flakes to taste


Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400ยฐF (200ยฐC).
  2. Arrange the trimmed asparagus on a baking sheet.
  3. Drizzle with olive oil and sprinkle with minced garlic, salt, and black pepper. Toss to coat evenly.
  4. Scatter the chopped bacon evenly over the asparagus.
  5. Roast in the preheated oven for 15โ€“18 minutes, until the asparagus is tender and the bacon is crispy.
  6. Remove from the oven and sprinkle the cheese evenly on top.
  7. Return to the oven for 3โ€“5 minutes, until the cheese is melted and lightly golden.
