Description

Savory pizza cupcakes made with biscuit or pizza dough, filled with sauce, cheese, and toppings, then baked in a muffin tin for a fun, handheld twist on traditional pizza.


Ingredients

  • 1 can refrigerated biscuit dough (or pizza dough)
  • 1 cup pizza sauce
  • 1 1/2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup mini pepperoni slices (or chopped regular pepperoni)
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • Optional toppings: diced bell peppers, mushrooms, olives, or onions
  • Nonstick cooking spray


Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C) and lightly grease a muffin tin with nonstick spray.
  2. Flatten each biscuit or cut pizza dough into circles large enough to fit into muffin cups.
  3. Press the dough into each muffin cup, forming a little crust base.
  4. Spoon 1 tablespoon of pizza sauce into each dough cup.
  5. Sprinkle mozzarella cheese over the sauce and add desired toppings.
  6. Top with more cheese, pepperoni, and a sprinkle of Italian seasoning.
  7. Bake for 12–15 minutes, or until cheese is melted and dough is golden brown.
  8. Remove from oven, let cool slightly, then carefully remove cupcakes from tin.
  9. Sprinkle with Parmesan cheese before serving.
