Description

Oven-Fried Feta Rolls are crispy baked pastry rolls filled with tangy feta cheese and herbs, offering a lighter alternative to traditional fried appetizers.

Ingredients

  • 8 sheets phyllo dough
  • 8 oz feta cheese, crumbled
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
  • Black pepper, to taste
  • 3 tablespoons olive oil or melted butter
  • Cooking spray

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (205°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a bowl, mix feta cheese, egg, parsley, oregano, and black pepper until combined.
  3. Lay one sheet of phyllo dough on a clean surface and lightly brush with olive oil or butter.
  4. Place another sheet on top and brush again.
  5. Cut the layered phyllo in half lengthwise.
  6. Spoon feta mixture along one end of each strip and roll tightly, folding in the sides.
  7. Place rolls seam-side down on the prepared baking sheet.
  8. Lightly spray the tops with cooking spray.
  9. Bake for 18–22 minutes, turning once, until golden and crisp.
  10. Remove from oven and let cool slightly before serving.

Notes

  • Keep phyllo dough covered with a damp towel while working.
  • Serve with honey or marinara sauce for dipping.
  • Can be assembled ahead and baked just before serving.
