Ingredients
- 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- 1/2 cup bourbon
- 1/3 cup pure maple syrup
- 2 tablespoons Dijon mustard
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/2 cup chopped pecans, toasted
- 1 tablespoon butter
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Season the chicken breasts with salt and pepper on both sides.
- In a large oven-safe skillet, heat olive oil over medium-high heat.
- Sear the chicken breasts for 3–4 minutes per side until golden brown. Remove and set aside.
- In the same skillet, add butter, garlic, bourbon, maple syrup, Dijon mustard, and soy sauce. Stir and simmer for 2–3 minutes until slightly thickened.
- Return the chicken to the skillet, spooning sauce over the top.
- Transfer the skillet to the oven and bake for 20–25 minutes, or until chicken reaches an internal temperature of 165°F (74°C).
- Top with toasted pecans and spoon additional sauce over before serving.
Notes
- You can substitute chicken thighs for breasts for a richer flavor.
- Use a non-alcoholic bourbon alternative if preferred.
