Description

An elegant, restaurant-style Christmas salmon inspired by Gordon Ramsay’s flavors, featuring crispy skin, citrus notes, fresh herbs, and a buttery finish—perfect for a festive dinner.

Ingredients

  • 4 salmon fillets, skin-on
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • Salt, to taste
  • Black pepper, to taste
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 2 cloves garlic, lightly crushed
  • 2 sprigs fresh thyme
  • 1 sprig fresh rosemary
  • 1 lemon, sliced
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
  • Fresh parsley or dill, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Pat the salmon fillets dry and season generously with salt and black pepper on both sides.
  2. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
  3. Place salmon skin-side down in the hot pan and press gently to keep the skin flat.
  4. Cook for 4–5 minutes until the skin is crispy and golden.
  5. Flip the salmon and reduce heat to medium.
  6. Add butter, garlic, thyme, rosemary, and lemon slices to the pan.
  7. Baste the salmon with the melted herb butter for 1–2 minutes.
  8. Remove salmon from the pan once just cooked through.
  9. Finish with a squeeze of fresh lemon juice and garnish with chopped herbs.
  10. Serve immediately with roasted vegetables or potatoes.

Notes

  • Crispy skin is achieved by starting with a very hot pan.
  • Do not overcook—salmon should be slightly translucent in the center.
  • Perfect for Christmas dinner with simple sides.
