An elegant, restaurant-style Christmas salmon inspired by Gordon Ramsay’s flavors, featuring crispy skin, citrus notes, fresh herbs, and a buttery finish—perfect for a festive dinner.
Ingredients
- 4 salmon fillets, skin-on
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- Salt, to taste
- Black pepper, to taste
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 2 cloves garlic, lightly crushed
- 2 sprigs fresh thyme
- 1 sprig fresh rosemary
- 1 lemon, sliced
- 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
- Fresh parsley or dill, chopped (for garnish)
Instructions
- Pat the salmon fillets dry and season generously with salt and black pepper on both sides.
- Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
- Place salmon skin-side down in the hot pan and press gently to keep the skin flat.
- Cook for 4–5 minutes until the skin is crispy and golden.
- Flip the salmon and reduce heat to medium.
- Add butter, garlic, thyme, rosemary, and lemon slices to the pan.
- Baste the salmon with the melted herb butter for 1–2 minutes.
- Remove salmon from the pan once just cooked through.
- Finish with a squeeze of fresh lemon juice and garnish with chopped herbs.
- Serve immediately with roasted vegetables or potatoes.
Notes
- Crispy skin is achieved by starting with a very hot pan.
- Do not overcook—salmon should be slightly translucent in the center.
