Ingredients
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon baking powder
- 8 oz cream cheese, softened
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar (for cheesecake layer)
- 1 large egg (for cheesecake layer)
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract (for cheesecake layer)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 180°C (350°F) and line an 8×8-inch baking pan with parchment paper.
- Melt butter and whisk with sugar until smooth.
- Add eggs and vanilla extract, mixing well.
- Stir in cocoa powder, flour, salt, and baking powder until just combined.
- In a separate bowl, beat cream cheese, sugar, egg, and vanilla until smooth.
- Pour brownie batter into the prepared pan, reserving a few tablespoons.
- Spoon cheesecake mixture evenly over the brownie layer.
- Dollop reserved brownie batter on top and swirl gently with a knife.
- Bake for 30–35 minutes until set but still slightly fudgy in the center.
- Cool completely before slicing.
