Description

Easy Spicy Tuna Cakes are quick pan-fried patties made with canned tuna, breadcrumbs, and bold spices, perfect as an appetizer or light main dish with a crispy outside and tender center.


Ingredients

  • 2 cans (160 g each) tuna in water, drained
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 tbsp mayonnaise
  • 1 tbsp Dijon mustard
  • 1 tsp chili sauce or sriracha
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp paprika
  • Salt to taste
  • Black pepper to taste
  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil for frying


Instructions

  1. Add drained tuna to a mixing bowl and flake with a fork.
  2. Mix in breadcrumbs, egg, mayonnaise, mustard, chili sauce, garlic powder, paprika, salt, and pepper.
  3. Stir until well combined and form the mixture into small patties.
  4. Heat oil in a skillet over medium heat.
  5. Place tuna cakes in the skillet and cook for 3–4 minutes per side until golden brown.
  6. Remove from pan and drain briefly on paper towels.
  7. Serve warm with dipping sauce or salad.

Notes

  • Adjust spice level by increasing or reducing chili sauce.
  • Chill the mixture for 10 minutes if patties feel too soft.
  • Can be baked at 200°C (400°F) for a lighter version.
