This Easy Honey Sesame Chicken is a quick, flavorful stir-fry featuring crispy chicken pieces coated in a sticky, sweet-savory honey sesame sauce. Perfect for a weeknight dinner, it delivers takeout-style taste with minimal effort.


Ingredients

  • 1 lb (450g) boneless, skinless chicken breasts, cut into bite-sized pieces
  • 2 tbsp cornstarch
  • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 large egg, beaten
  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 2 tbsp ketchup
  • 2 tbsp rice vinegar
  • 1 tbsp sesame oil
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 tbsp sesame seeds, toasted
  • 2 green onions, sliced (for garnish)
  • Cooked white rice, for serving


Instructions

  1. In a bowl, toss the chicken pieces with cornstarch and flour until evenly coated.
  2. Dip the coated chicken into the beaten egg to cover completely.
  3. Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat. Add the chicken and cook until golden brown and cooked through, about 6-8 minutes. Remove and set aside.
  4. In the same pan, combine soy sauce, honey, ketchup, rice vinegar, sesame oil, and minced garlic. Stir and simmer until slightly thickened, about 2-3 minutes.
  5. Return the chicken to the pan and toss to coat evenly in the sauce.
  6. Sprinkle with sesame seeds and sliced green onions.
  7. Serve hot over steamed rice.
