Ingredients
- 1 lb (450g) boneless, skinless chicken breasts, cut into bite-sized pieces
- 2 tbsp cornstarch
- 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 large egg, beaten
- 2 tbsp vegetable oil
- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- 1/4 cup honey
- 2 tbsp ketchup
- 2 tbsp rice vinegar
- 1 tbsp sesame oil
- 2 garlic cloves, minced
- 1 tbsp sesame seeds, toasted
- 2 green onions, sliced (for garnish)
- Cooked white rice, for serving
Instructions
- In a bowl, toss the chicken pieces with cornstarch and flour until evenly coated.
- Dip the coated chicken into the beaten egg to cover completely.
- Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat. Add the chicken and cook until golden brown and cooked through, about 6-8 minutes. Remove and set aside.
- In the same pan, combine soy sauce, honey, ketchup, rice vinegar, sesame oil, and minced garlic. Stir and simmer until slightly thickened, about 2-3 minutes.
- Return the chicken to the pan and toss to coat evenly in the sauce.
- Sprinkle with sesame seeds and sliced green onions.
- Serve hot over steamed rice.
