Description

These Crispy Keto Onion Rings are the ultimate low-carb, gluten-free snack! They’re coated in a flavorful almond flour and Parmesan crust that fries up perfectly golden and crunchy — all without the carbs. Perfect for dipping and satisfying your crispy cravings guilt-free!

Ingredients

  • 1 large yellow onion, cut into 1/2-inch rings
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 tbsp heavy cream
  • 1 cup almond flour
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp paprika
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • Avocado oil or olive oil, for frying
  • Optional: sugar-free ketchup or spicy aioli for dipping

Instructions

  1. Separate the onion into individual rings and set aside.
  2. In a small bowl, whisk together eggs and heavy cream.
  3. In another bowl, combine almond flour, Parmesan cheese, garlic powder, paprika, salt, and pepper.
  4. Dip each onion ring into the egg mixture, then coat with the almond flour mixture. Press lightly to help the coating stick.
  5. Place coated rings on a parchment-lined baking sheet and let rest for 5–10 minutes to set the coating.
  6. Heat 1–2 inches of oil in a deep skillet or pot over medium-high heat (about 350°F / 175°C).
  7. Fry onion rings in batches for 2–3 minutes per side until golden brown and crispy. Do not overcrowd the pan.
  8. Remove and drain on paper towels. Sprinkle with a little extra salt if desired.
  9. Serve warm with your favorite keto-friendly dipping sauce.

Notes

  • To air fry: Cook at 375°F (190°C) for 10–12 minutes, flipping halfway through.
  • For extra crunch, double-dip: repeat the egg wash and coating process once more.
  • These onion rings are best served immediately but can be reheated in the air fryer or oven to re-crisp.
  • Use finely grated Parmesan for the crispiest coating.
