Description
Creamy Lemon Chicken is a comforting yet bright dish made with tender chicken breasts simmered in a rich, creamy lemon sauce infused with garlic and herbs.
Ingredients
- 4 boneless skinless chicken breasts
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1/2 cup chicken broth
- Zest of 1 lemon
- 3 tablespoons fresh lemon juice
- 1/2 teaspoon dried thyme
- 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
- Salt to taste
- Black pepper to taste
- 2 tablespoons grated Parmesan cheese
- Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
Instructions
- Season the chicken breasts on both sides with salt and black pepper.
- Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat and sear the chicken for 5–6 minutes per side until golden and cooked through. Remove and set aside.
- In the same skillet, melt the butter and sauté garlic for 30 seconds until fragrant.
- Add chicken broth, scraping up any browned bits from the pan.
- Stir in heavy cream, lemon zest, lemon juice, thyme, and oregano.
- Simmer the sauce for 3–5 minutes until slightly thickened.
- Stir in Parmesan cheese until melted and smooth.
- Return the chicken to the skillet and spoon sauce over the top.
- Simmer for 3–4 minutes until heated through.
- Garnish with fresh parsley and serve warm.
Notes
- Serve with pasta, rice, or mashed potatoes.
- Adjust lemon juice to taste for more or less tang.
- Do not boil the sauce to prevent curdling.
