Description

Creamy Lemon Chicken is a comforting yet bright dish made with tender chicken breasts simmered in a rich, creamy lemon sauce infused with garlic and herbs.


Ingredients

  • 4 boneless skinless chicken breasts
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup chicken broth
  • Zest of 1 lemon
  • 3 tablespoons fresh lemon juice
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried thyme
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
  • Salt to taste
  • Black pepper to taste
  • 2 tablespoons grated Parmesan cheese
  • Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)


Instructions

  1. Season the chicken breasts on both sides with salt and black pepper.
  2. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat and sear the chicken for 5–6 minutes per side until golden and cooked through. Remove and set aside.
  3. In the same skillet, melt the butter and sauté garlic for 30 seconds until fragrant.
  4. Add chicken broth, scraping up any browned bits from the pan.
  5. Stir in heavy cream, lemon zest, lemon juice, thyme, and oregano.
  6. Simmer the sauce for 3–5 minutes until slightly thickened.
  7. Stir in Parmesan cheese until melted and smooth.
  8. Return the chicken to the skillet and spoon sauce over the top.
  9. Simmer for 3–4 minutes until heated through.
  10. Garnish with fresh parsley and serve warm.

Notes

  • Serve with pasta, rice, or mashed potatoes.
  • Adjust lemon juice to taste for more or less tang.
  • Do not boil the sauce to prevent curdling.
