Description

Cozy Pan-Fried Feta Saganaki is a quick and comforting Greek-inspired appetizer featuring golden, crispy feta cheese with a warm, soft center, finished with lemon and herbs.

Ingredients

  • 200 g block feta cheese
  • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tsp dried oregano
  • 1 tbsp fresh lemon juice
  • Fresh parsley, chopped (optional)

Instructions

  1. Pat the feta block dry with paper towels.
  2. Mix flour and black pepper in a shallow dish.
  3. Lightly coat feta on all sides with the flour mixture, shaking off excess.
  4. Heat olive oil in a non-stick skillet over medium heat.
  5. Carefully place feta in the pan and cook for 2–3 minutes per side until golden and crispy.
  6. Remove from heat and transfer to a serving plate.
  7. Sprinkle with oregano and drizzle with fresh lemon juice.
  8. Garnish with parsley if desired and serve immediately.

Notes

  • Use a firm block of feta to prevent breaking.
  • Serve with warm pita bread or crusty bread.
  • A drizzle of honey can add a sweet contrast.
