Ingredients

  • 3/4 cup milk (for biscuits)
  • 1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 tbsp all-purpose flour (for gravy)
  • 2 cups milk (for gravy)
  • 2 tbsp unsalted butter (for gravy)
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract


Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 425°F (220°C).
  2. In a bowl, mix flour, baking powder, and salt.
  3. Cut in cold butter until mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  4. Add milk and stir just until combined.
  5. Turn dough onto a floured surface, pat out, and cut biscuits.
  6. Bake biscuits for 12–15 minutes until golden brown.
  7. While biscuits bake, whisk cocoa powder, sugar, and flour in a saucepan.
  8. Gradually whisk in milk until smooth.
  9. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until thickened.
  10. Remove from heat and stir in butter and vanilla.
  11. Serve warm biscuits topped with chocolate gravy.
