Description
This Chocolate Chip Skillet Cookie is a warm, gooey dessert baked in a skillet for perfectly crispy edges and a soft, melty center. It’s an indulgent treat best served fresh from the oven with a scoop of vanilla ice cream on top.
Ingredients
- 1/2 cup (115g) unsalted butter, melted
- 1/2 cup brown sugar, packed
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1 large egg
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 tsp baking soda
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 3/4 cup semisweet chocolate chips
- Optional: vanilla ice cream, for serving
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a mixing bowl, whisk together melted butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until smooth.
- Add the egg and vanilla extract, and mix until combined.
- Stir in the flour, baking soda, and salt until just incorporated.
- Fold in the chocolate chips, reserving a few for topping.
- Spread the cookie dough evenly into an 8-inch oven-safe skillet.
- Top with remaining chocolate chips and bake for 18–22 minutes, until golden brown on the edges but soft in the center.
- Cool for 5 minutes before serving warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.
Notes
- Do not overbake for a gooey center; the cookie will continue to set as it cools.
- Use dark chocolate or white chocolate chips for variation.
- Best served warm straight from the skillet.
