Description

This Chai Snickerdoodle Puppy Chow is a cozy, sweet snack mix bursting with warm chai spices and cinnamon sugar goodness. It’s crunchy, sweet, and perfectly spiced — a fun twist on classic puppy chow (a.k.a. Muddy Buddies) that’s perfect for holidays, gifting, or cozy movie nights.

Ingredients

  • 6 cups Rice Chex cereal
  • 1 cup white chocolate chips (or vanilla candy melts)
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp ground ginger
  • 1/4 tsp ground cardamom
  • 1/4 tsp ground nutmeg
  • 1/8 tsp ground cloves

Instructions

  1. Place the Chex cereal in a large mixing bowl.
  2. In a microwave-safe bowl, combine white chocolate chips and butter. Microwave in 20-second intervals, stirring between each, until melted and smooth.
  3. Stir in vanilla extract, then pour the melted mixture over the cereal. Gently toss to coat evenly.
  4. In a separate small bowl, whisk together powdered sugar, granulated sugar, cinnamon, ginger, cardamom, nutmeg, and cloves.
  5. Transfer the coated cereal into a large resealable bag or container with a lid. Add the chai-sugar mixture, seal, and shake until all cereal pieces are evenly coated.
  6. Spread the mixture out on parchment paper to cool and dry completely.
  7. Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 1 week.

Notes

  • Add crushed graham crackers or mini marshmallows for extra texture and flavor.
  • For a dairy-free version, use coconut oil and vegan white chocolate.
  • Perfect for holiday gifting — pack in mason jars or treat bags tied with ribbon.
  • Freeze for up to 1 month in a sealed container for make-ahead treats.
