A festive Christmas salmon dish featuring tender oven-baked salmon topped with a fragrant herb crust and citrus notes, perfect for a holiday centerpiece.
Ingredients
- 2 lbs salmon fillet, skin-on
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 2 tablespoons Dijon mustard
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon lemon zest
- 2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice
- 1/3 cup fresh parsley, finely chopped
- 2 tablespoons fresh dill, chopped
- 2 tablespoons fresh thyme leaves
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- Lemon slices, for garnish
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Place the salmon fillet on the prepared baking sheet, skin-side down.
- In a small bowl, mix olive oil, Dijon mustard, garlic, lemon zest, lemon juice, salt, and black pepper.
- Spread the mixture evenly over the salmon.
- In another bowl, combine parsley, dill, and thyme.
- Press the herb mixture gently onto the salmon to form a crust.
- Bake for 15–18 minutes, or until the salmon flakes easily with a fork.
- Remove from oven and let rest for 5 minutes.
- Garnish with lemon slices and serve warm.
