Description

Bang-Bang Bacon Cheddar is a bold, savory dish featuring crispy chicken coated in a creamy sweet-and-spicy bang-bang sauce, topped with melted cheddar cheese and crispy bacon for an irresistible appetizer or main course.


Ingredients

  • 1 lb chicken tenders or chicken breast strips
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 cup panko breadcrumbs
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 6 slices bacon, cooked and crumbled
  • Cooking spray or oil for frying
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 1/4 cup sweet chili sauce
  • 12 tablespoons sriracha sauce
  • 1 teaspoon honey (optional)


Instructions

  1. In a small bowl, mix mayonnaise, sweet chili sauce, sriracha, and honey to make the bang-bang sauce. Set aside.
  2. In one bowl, combine flour, paprika, garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
  3. In a second bowl, beat the eggs.
  4. In a third bowl, place the panko breadcrumbs.
  5. Dredge each chicken piece in the flour mixture, dip into eggs, then coat with breadcrumbs.
  6. Fry chicken in hot oil at 350°F (175°C) for 4–5 minutes per side until golden and cooked through, or air fry at 375°F (190°C) for 12–14 minutes.
  7. Place cooked chicken on a baking tray, drizzle with bang-bang sauce.
  8. Top with shredded cheddar cheese and crumbled bacon.
  9. Broil for 2–3 minutes until cheese is melted and bubbly.
  10. Serve hot with extra bang-bang sauce on the side.

Notes

  • Adjust sriracha to control spice level.
  • Can be served as sliders, over fries, or as a standalone dish.
  • Use turkey bacon if preferred.
