Description
Bang-Bang Bacon Cheddar is a bold, savory dish featuring crispy chicken coated in a creamy sweet-and-spicy bang-bang sauce, topped with melted cheddar cheese and crispy bacon for an irresistible appetizer or main course.
Ingredients
- 1 lb chicken tenders or chicken breast strips
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 2 large eggs
- 1 cup panko breadcrumbs
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 6 slices bacon, cooked and crumbled
- Cooking spray or oil for frying
- 1/2 cup mayonnaise
- 1/4 cup sweet chili sauce
- 1–2 tablespoons sriracha sauce
- 1 teaspoon honey (optional)
Instructions
- In a small bowl, mix mayonnaise, sweet chili sauce, sriracha, and honey to make the bang-bang sauce. Set aside.
- In one bowl, combine flour, paprika, garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
- In a second bowl, beat the eggs.
- In a third bowl, place the panko breadcrumbs.
- Dredge each chicken piece in the flour mixture, dip into eggs, then coat with breadcrumbs.
- Fry chicken in hot oil at 350°F (175°C) for 4–5 minutes per side until golden and cooked through, or air fry at 375°F (190°C) for 12–14 minutes.
- Place cooked chicken on a baking tray, drizzle with bang-bang sauce.
- Top with shredded cheddar cheese and crumbled bacon.
- Broil for 2–3 minutes until cheese is melted and bubbly.
- Serve hot with extra bang-bang sauce on the side.
Notes
- Adjust sriracha to control spice level.
- Can be served as sliders, over fries, or as a standalone dish.
- Use turkey bacon if preferred.
